Information for Parents/Guardians accompanying children and young people to Arts Therapy at Blue Box.
Blue Box in-house Creative Arts Therapy sessions take place at a set time and day each week for between 12 and 20 sessions lasting 50 minutes.
Children and young people who are referred to the service must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or named adult carer who undertakes to bring them on time for their session.
This is a confidential service however, we must act or report concerns under the Child First Act 2015 to the relevant statutory services.
The accompanying adult is required to wait in the waiting room whilst the child or young person is in the session. It is essential that the accompanying adult should remain in the waiting room to be close at hand in the event of the child young person wishing to leave or needing any other kind of support.
Regular attendance at every session is required to maximise the effects of the therapy. If for some unavoidable reason (such as illness) a session cannot be attended, Blue Box should be informed, giving 24-hours’ notice, or in the case of an emergency, as soon as possible before the session time is due to begin. A 50% of fee charge will apply when less than 24-hours notice is given.
During the course of Creative Arts Therapy sessions, the therapist will meet with the parent or guardian on at least two occasions to discuss the progress of the therapy. A report can be requested at the end of the therapy or within three months thereafter.
Fee – €60 per session (this has been reduced from €90 thanks to successful fundraising efforts to allow for greater accessibility and affordability). €30 for intake meetings, parent/carer meetings and requested reports
A limited number of reduced rate sessions for €30 will be offer to those who have proof of a social welfare payment.
There are limited number of places at the €30 rate, as these are subsidised by fundraising.
